CAADV Key Partner Forum

On 24th February CAADV held their 2nd key partner forum. All those who attended the breakfast meeting engaged in a vibrant and productive conversation. We explored opportunities to work with the key partners on new awareness programmes and policies to address domestic violence and the impact in the workplace.

Deborah Jamieson from Cross Government Head of Health, Work and Wellbeing Strategy Unit and Trustee of CAADV gave impassioned talk on the need for employers to take action and highlighting the work she has done in the past. Deborah shared with us the successful work done on the Black Cab Campaign which helped save many lives.

Felicity Smith, National Co-ordinator for Faith-Action, discussed the need to link in with organisations within the faith communities and highlighted the need for employers and all service groups to address the mental health concerns of people that endure domestic violence.

Julian Topping, Director at Health, work and wellbeing for NHS employers, spoke to group about the work that NHS is doing to look at the needs of their employees. NHS employers have been dedicated members of CAADV for over 5 years and have done excellent work in this arena.

Lorna Gavin, Director of CSR at Wragge and Co, shared with the group Wragge’s experience of learning about the impact of domestic violence and how, in partnership with CAADV, they are beginning to create awareness programmes for their employees as well as putting in place new HR policies that deals with domestic violence.
